Welcome to Suzy's webpage. Suzy was born some 2570 earth years ago
on a yellowish planet in a scruffy outer arm of our milky way. Together
with her uncle Lawdphard she hitchhiked on a runaway asteroid to our
solar system. After checking out a couple of lousy planets they
arrived on a planet called Earth in the summer of 1998. Uncle Lawdphard
spent his summer holidays in an international astronomy camp somewhere
in Germany, and Suzy took a language course on an odd island in a town
called Sheffield. After the language course Suzy hung out in Sheffield
for a couple of years more until one rainy thursday afternoon in July 2001
when she met Marieke, a girl who had been in the same astronomy camp as
Uncle Lawdphard. And that's when Suzy's trip around the world started.
Suzy's a bit on a low budget, since her credit card got lost during a shaky
warp passage on her trip to Earth. That's why she's traveling around the
earth in the backpack of IAYC-oldies. If one day Suzy ends up in your
backpack, then you should show her some cool places where you live or where
you're travelling, , take a picture and send it to
suzy@iayc.org together
with a short note describing how suzy's doing. And ofcourse you should
get her into a new iayc-oldie-backpack as soon as possible.
On this page you can follow Suzy's adventures around the world.

20-12-2001 -- Machu Pichu, Peru
Suzy is in Bart's backpack
traveling in Peru. Today she woke up at 4:30 to
hike up to the Inka-ruins of Machu Pichu. Sunrise
over Machu Pichu was beautiful. Suzy just loves the
papaya-juice in Peru. It's way better than the warm
beer in Sheffield, she says.

05-01-2002 -- La Silla observatory, Chile
Suzy's in the observatory
of La Silla, Chile for two weeks. She loves it.
Every night after a beautiful sunset she hijacks
another telescope to peer to a G-dwarf in Ophiuchus,
because that's the star her yellow home planet is
orbiting. But it's summer in Chile now, so she does
not feel too homesick. Anyway, she says she's fed
up with traveling under Bart's dirty socks, so he had
to promise to take her to another IAYC oldie before the
end of the month.

25-01-2002 -- Paris, France
Suzy's at Ricky's place near Paris in France.
She arrived here with Lars and Bart.
Plenty of other IAYC oldies here: Alex, Sam,
Christo, Tanja, Kai, Gwendy, Tom and Katalin.
Suzy saw the Eiffeltower and Quartier Latin,
and she eats loads of croissants.

28-01-2002 -- Berlin, Germany
According to Suzy, Gwendy's backpack is a good
vehicle to hitch-hike around Europe. They almost
missed their flight from Charles de Gaule to Berlin,
but in the end they made it. Suzy just can't believe
that a wall used to divide the Universe in two near
Checkpoint Charlie.

|
04-02-2002 -- Les Houches, France
Suzy's skiing! While Gwendy attends the courses
in a school about observing with the Very Large
Telescope Interferometer, Suzy is checking out the
dudes on snowboards and rushing down the slopes
on her purple skis.

30-03-2002 -- Berlin, Germany
Birthday party at Christo's place, that's where
Suzy wanted to be. After dozens of Kai pirinhas
she fell asleep, and woke up in an appartment full
of people eating Easter eggs: Lars, Sandra, Thomas,
Kai, Gwendy, Bart, Elissa, Ricky and Katalin.
On the picture you can see Suzy hiding in the hands
of Thomas.

09-02-2002 -- Geneva, Switzerland
Bastien is a good cook. And a great host for
good looking girls like Suzy.
|
|
11-05-2002 -- London, United Kingdom
Sam took Suzy to the Milennium Bridge. And to
the Greenwich Meridian. Not only Suzy ofcourse,
also Marc, Jure, Petra, Christo, Bart, Elissa, Gwendy,
and Kai were there. And on Monday she can try to
sneak into the musical hall to seen the Phantom of the
Opera. Jure promised Suzy to smuggle her in the
pocket of his taxido.

16-05-2002 -- Jure's backpack
Suzy's in Jure's backpack now.
|
|
27-08-2003 -- Bonn, Germany
After participating in the same camp as her uncle
Lawdphard did in 98 Suzy was inevitably attracted
by the IAYC center of gravity where she arrived
together with Jo:rg. In Bonn Suzy met
many IAYC oldies and enjoyed the view from the roof of
Astronomical institutes together with Tim, Stefanie,
Jo:rg, Anja and Marusa.

|
5-11-2003 -- Poland
Suzy visited Poland some time ago. She spent there a
week with Ania, TiNa brought her from Slovenia. She
liked the food and met some nice people here. She
definitely wants to come back.

|
15-11-2003 -- Göttingen, Germany
Suzy travelled from the cold Eifel to the not so
cold Göttingen. She is spending her time mostly
with Steffen. Today he showed her this little
town where Suzy's old friend Gauss once worked.
Despite some rumors, she did not get a cold.

20-03-2004 -- York, England
After 3 exciting years spent travelling all
over the world, Suzy has finally returned to
Yorkshire- her surrogate home when she first
arrived on Earth. Here you can see Suzy on the
city walls of York, in front of the Minster.
Gemma took her up to the top of the Minster tower
later that day, where it promptly started to
snow. Suzy vowed to leave the Yorkshire weather
behind her again very soon ...
