ET - Experiments and rockeTs (by Eva)

The working group E.T. (Experiments and rockeTs) had 8 participants forming 4 project teams. The projects mainly focused on building different types of rockets and doing basic experiments.

Solid Fuel Rocket (Aitor, Matthias and Ola)
The aim of this project was to design and build a solid fuel model rocket using all kinds of commonly used houshold materials like pipes, cardboard or Pringles tubes. With the provided solid fuel rocket engines a one stage and a two sage rocket were built.

Hydrogen Rocket (Jacopo and Eli)
In this project we tried to design and build a rocket fuelled with hydrogen. The hydrogen was produced using electrolysis and chemical reactions. The rocket's body was made from card board and tetra pack boxes.

Water Rocket (Jorge and Natalia)
Using a bike pump, a valve from a bike tire and a plastic bottle this project was aiming to build a rocket propelled by pressure. The bottle filled with a small amount of water was accelerated away from the ground once the connection between the pump and the rocket's body was separated.

Europa, the Jovian Moon (Zsolt and Natalia)
The aim of this project was to get some general knowledge on the Jovian satellite Europa. Especially looking at the probable properties of its icy surface and its sub-surface ocean. An experiment on the distribution of minerals in different ice layers was conducted as well.
